Parentpay System – May 2017

As you will be aware, Powys County Council implemented the “Parent Pay” system last December to enable parents to pay electronically for their child’s food purchases in school.

For the majority this has proved to be a simple and successful process and has removed the need to send your child to school with cash.

However, there have been occasions where pupil accounts have become overdrawn as top-ups to the parent pay account have not been completed in a timely manner.

Our Catering staff will always seek to advise a pupil if they notice the account has a low balance or has gone overdrawn, and will always endeavour to do this without causing embarrassment.

To alleviate the possibility of your child not being able to purchase a meal due to being overdrawn, please can you check your parent pay account regularly and when topping up online, please allow 24 hours for the payment to be credited to the account. When updating your basket do not forget to click the blue button (with the knife & fork logo) to ensure the dinner money account is credited.

If you are using a “Paypoint Card” then you need to allow at least 48 hours for the payment to reach your account.

Please remember that, depending on your circumstances, it may be possible to apply for a Free School Meal which is credited to a pupil’s account.

If you have any concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school.
