Cross Country Event – 5th October 2017

Well done to all BHS athletes who ran today in the second schools league X-country race hosted by Brecon High School.

Team captains Isaac Pierce, Glesni Powell, Riley McLoughlin and Harvey Parsons led their teams by example and ran competitive and hard fought races.

The weather could not have been better with dry conditions and warming sunshine with lots of parents and spectators making this fixture a vibrant one .

A special mention goes to Year 7s  Nerys Corcoran, Connor Carter and Jasmin Bush who ran in their 1st cross-country competition representing Brecon High School; all did well with Nerys in 27th position, Jasmin 40th, and Connor in 45th .

For the Year 8’s Hannah Marshal and Freddie Hughes also made their debuts with Hannah storming home in 17th place and Freddie in 41st.

In Year 10 Amy Marshall made her return from injury to finish in 13th place in the senior girls race to ensure along with Glesni, Jade Newton Perry  and Beth Nelson that Brecon high schools senior Girls retain their 1st team place in the overall standings .

A big thank you also goes to all the student marshall’s and helpers who gave up an hour of their after school time, without whom the event would not have a run as smoothly as it did.

Round 3 of the schools league will be  on the 8th of November at Christ College.
