Despite two schools not making it due to problems on the roads, the last schools cross country league fixture went ahead.
The junior girls team came 2nd overall and the senior girls were unbeaten in first again .
The junior boys came 6th team. As there were exams taking place, we could not field a senior boys team for this fixture.
Excellent running by all. Many of our pupils also ran on Saturday at the Gwent cross country league here in Brecon , with a record turnout of over 1700 athletes, it was fantastic to see Rory Orton secure a bronze medal for east wales in the U13 boys race, Isaac Pierce ran a superb race also up against the very best runners in wales. Chloe Jones and Glesni Powell found the quagmire of mud that extended over the entire course hard going but ran in to finish in the top half of the field. They got satisfaction and cheered enthusiastically seeing Mr Northey tackle the senior men’s 10km course in a race of over 480 athletes; by the time of the race the last remnants of any grass had gone and had become just one big sea of ankle and in places deeper mud, suitable challenging!
