Key Stage 3
At Key Stage 3 pupils learn about the formal elements of art. The time spent on projects increases as the pupils mature and progress through the key stage.
Year 7 – Pupils complete projects on line, colour, graphics and 3D masks.
Year 8 – Pupils complete projects on identity, pattern and 3D wire figures.
Year 9 – Pupils complete projects on painting, drawing and graphics.
Key Stage 4: GCSE
Pupils complete two projects and an exam unit.
Fine art – Split into equal time spent on landscape and portraiture
Design – Pupils choose a design question and can work on 3-D design, graphics or textiles
